In 1979, he graduated from North-Caucasian Mining and Metallurgical Institute. From December 1979 to 2009 he worked for Norilsk Nickel. During this time he was promoted from the Master of the Main Production Site to the Head of the Technical Department of the Norilsk Ore-Dressing Plant. From January 2009 he works as the Director of Science and Technology at Polyus Gold.
