Warwick Morley-Jepson has more than 32 years of experience in the mining industry, mostly within the gold sector. He joined Kinross Gold Corporation as the Regional Vice President for Russia in October 2009, a position which he currently holds. In 2010, Mr. Morley-Jepson was appointed as General Director of CJSC “Chukotka Mining and Geological Company” (“CMGC”). Prior to joining Kinross he was appoint Chief Executive Officer of, a privately held gold mining company with interests in Russia and Kazakhstan. Prior to joining SUN Gold he was Managing Director of Barrick Africa, Barrick Platinum South Africa and three Russian-based companies in the Barrick group. There he was responsible for South African operations, business and project development in Russia and on the African continent. Before Barrick, he has spent several years with Placer Dome, leading their South African business development efforts, including the conclusion of the Sedibelo Platinum JV as well as the transition of the North Mara Gold Mine in Tanzania into the Placer Dome Group. Prior to Placer Dome, Mr. Morley-Jepson spent twenty years with Johannesburg Consolidated Investments Pty Ltd, where his last position was as Chief Consulting Mechanical and Electrical Engineer for the company’s Gold Division.
Warwick has spent significant time over the last eleven years working in West Africa (Mali, Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire) East Africa (Tanzania) and more recently Russia and Kazakhstan.
He has undertaken a number of technical, managerial and financial courses during his career, most notably the ‘Management Development Program’ at Graduate School of Business, Cape Town University and ‘Management in the Mining Industry’ at Witwatersrand School of Business, University of the Witwatersrand.
He received a HNDT Mechanical Engineering at the Technicon Witwatersrand and a GCC Mines and Works (Mechanical). Mr. Morley-Jepson is a member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM).
